Bitcoin nation state game theory 101. You don’t have any choice but to play.
This is what excites many Bitcoiners. We really believe that bitcoin is the hardest money ever created. Michael Saylor equates this to the discovery of gunpowder. No matter how much traditional armies refused to adopt gunpowder weapons, the simple truth was that it was either adapt or perish. Same as bitcoin.
My personal opinion is that we won’t see anything post-apocalyptic like hyperbitcoinization. I believe the banks will simply reach a point where they’ll just have to own bitcoin in their reserves, they’re just delaying it as much as possible. But the first big bank to do so will become the first domino. That is if they haven’t bought some already in secret.
It remains to be seen. The point is, that bitcoin’s game theory will make things interesting.
