What is Metamask’s ‘Secret Recovery Phrase’ and how to keep your crypto wallet secure

Metamask announced a change in the name of the seed phrase to protect users from scams.

WARNING! The Seed Phrase or Secret Recovery Phrase allows anyone to get access to the wallet and use the funds inside it. Do not share your phrase with anyone.

To reduce confusion & protect users from scams, MetaMask is changing the term “seed phrase” to “secret recovery phrase”. This will be applied to all extension & mobile app users. The name change will occur from May to June 2021. No action is required.
